Something Cool

I had been working on a project called ‘Life Round Here’ with two other friends in my class, Ji Yoon and Seok Weon. It was a cool project which requires using a program called ‘i-movie’. The project was about what the life around here in Thailand is different from the life we had in Korea, our home country.

It was fun because I could work with my friends who can chat with me while working on it. I like working with other people more than alone. But we had a trouble when we all had our own ideas and then we started arguing about which idea we’re going to use. So that part was the hard part about working together.
Even though it looks really easy to make, this i-movie is not as easy as it looks! We had all of these complicated steps before getting to finish our movie. First we had to look for all the pictures for different sections like, food, money, schools. This was a part where everyone learned something new—that we MUST copy the sources of our pictures. We didn’t know that and didn’t do it and later we had to go back and look for the same old pictures again! That was really annoying.

The next part was the hardest and the most important part. It was writing the script. We took a long time to revise and edit our scripts. We had to care much to include all the answers for all the questions we had—what is life like in your home country? How does that compare to Thailand? How have you adapted? After that was the most embarrassing part. It was to record our voices. It was embarrassing because I HATE recording my voice. Don’t ask me why because I just don’t! Then there was the very last step—to check if everything goes smoothly. The finished work was worth what we went through. And this is the movie we made!
